What is this Medicine?

CEFOTETAN (SEF oh tee tan) is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat or prevent certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Taking Cefotetan (Cefotan) and using alcohol-containing beverages or medications together can cause new or worsening side effects in some people. Avoid alcohol while taking or within 2-3 days after stopping Cefotetan.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class B - Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
