CEFTIBUTEN (sef TYE byoo ten) is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Food can reduce the amount of Ceftibuten (Cedax) absorbed by the body. Take Ceftibuten on an empty stomach, 2 hours before or 1 hour after a meal.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class B - Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.

SECOND Trimester
