What is this Medicine?

DIAZEPAM (dye AZ e pam) is a benzodiazepine. It is used to treat anxiety and nervousness. It also can help treat alcohol withdrawal, relax muscles, and treat certain types of seizures.

Alternatively, if you take Diazepam and suddenly stop Tobacco smoking, you may feel more drowsy or tired, or may experience dizziness or other side effects. If you will stop smoking, use care in driving or operating machinery until you know how the Diazepam will affect you. Benzodiazepines include drugs for anxiety or sleep, such as Ativan, Dalmane, Doral, Halcion, Klonopin, Librium, ProSom, Restoril, Serax, Tranxene, Valium, and Xanax. Caffeine may increase nervousness or sleeplessness. If you are taking a Benzodiazepine to help you sleep, avoid taking Caffeine and Caffeine-containing foods or beverages like colas, coffee, teas, or chocolates within several hours prior to bedtime.
