What is this Medicine?

DOXORUBICIN (dox oh ROO bi sin) is a chemotherapy drug. It is used to treat many kinds of cancer like Hodgkin's disease, leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, neuroblastoma, sarcoma, and Wilms' tumor. It is also used to treat bladder cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, stomach cancer, and thyroid cancer.

Do not take Doxorubicin and Grapefruit Juice together without talking to your health care provider. Discuss possible alternative treatment options with your health care provider. Side effects from Doxorubicin can get worse, including an increased risk of infection or immunosuppression. If you get a fever, sore throat or other possible signs of an infection while receiving treatment, do not treat yourself. Discuss any new or worsening side effects with your health care provider.
