Tobacco and Ergot Alkaloids(Ergotamine Tartrate)
It is recommended to avoid nicotine (examples: Nicotine patches or gum) and tobacco while taking any Ergot-type medications. Side effects from Ergot Alkaloids may get worse if you take Nicotine or if you smoke tobacco. Side effects might include anxiety, chest pain, numbness in the fingers or toes, tingling, or vision changes.

Taking grapefruit juice with Ergotamine might increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, chest pain, high blood pressure, palpitations, or other serious side effects, like pain, numbness or reduced circulation to the hands, feet or legs. Talk to your doctor about drinking grapefruit juice while taking Ergotamine.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class X - Adequate well-controlled or observational studies in animals or pregnant women have demonstrated positive evidence of fetal abnormalities or risks. The use of the product is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.

SECOND Trimester

Class X - Adequate well-controlled or observational studies in animals or pregnant women have demonstrated positive evidence of fetal abnormalities or risks. The use of the product is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.

THIRD Trimester

Lactation

Avoid - This drug is known to cause harm to infants when taken by nursing mothers.
