What is this Medicine?

MECASERMIN is a man-made growth factor. It is used to increase growth in children who are short for their age. It is only for children whose bodies do not make enough growth factor.

FDA approved for the following conditions:
Growth Failure, Growth Hormone (GH) Gene Deletion, Primary Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF-1) Deficiency

Storage Information
Product in use should be thawed at room temperature for 45 minutes prior to use
Store product frozen up to 2 months at constant temperature (-4 degrees F)
Product should be used within one hour of reaching room temperature
Discard product if it contains particulate matter, is cloudy, or discolored
Product must be kept frozen (-4 degrees F) during transport and remain frozen until time of use

THIRD Trimester

Class C - Animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR No animal studies have been conducted and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

Lactation

Caution - Not enough information is available to rule out harm to infants when this drug is taken by nursing mothers.
