What is this Medicine?

LIOTHYRONINE (lye oh THYE roe neen) is a thyroid hormone. This medicine can improve symptoms of thyroid deficiency such as slow speech, lack of energy, weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, and feeling cold. It also helps to treat goiter (an enlarged thyroid gland).

Enteral Feedings and Liothyronine Sodium 25mcg Tablet(Liothyronine Sodium)
Enteral Feedings and Thyroid Hormones(Liothyronine Sodium)
It is best to take Thyroid hormones on an empty stomach. To avoid an interaction with liquid nutrition products, take Thyroid hormones 1 hour before tube feedings or nutritional supplement beverages.
Severe Lifestyle Interaction
Food and Liothyronine Sodium 25mcg Tablet(Liothyronine Sodium)
Food and Thyroid Hormones(Liothyronine Sodium)
It is best to take Thyroid hormones on an empty stomach. Food can limit the absorption of these hormones from the stomach. Examples of interacting foods include, but may not be limited to, soy protein, soy infant formulas, high fiber foods, liquid nutrition shakes, and walnuts. To avoid interactions with food, take Thyroid hormones 1 hour before any food. To avoid an interaction with liquid nutrition products, take Thyroid hormones 1 hour before tube feedings or nutritional supplement beverages.

Class A - Adequate, well-controlled studies in pregnant women have not shown an increased risk of fetal abnormalities to the fetus in any trimester of pregnancy.
