Tobacco smoking may reduce the effectiveness of Pentazocine at treating pain, by speeding the removal of the drug from the body. Alternatively, if you take Pentazocine and suddenly stop smoking, you may feel drowsy or more tired, and should not drive or operate machinery until you know how Pentazocine affects you. If you notice slurred speech, confusion, severe weakness, or difficulty breathing while taking Pentazocine, contact your health care provider immediately.
