About Pantoprazole Sodium
Follow your doctor's and pharmacist's instructions when taking pantoprazole.

Store pantoprazole at room temperature.

If you miss a dose of pantoprazole, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip your missed pantoprazole dose and take your next dose at its regular time.

Patients sometimes confuse heartburn from GERD with early symptoms of a heart attack. Chest pain along with pain spreading to the shoulders or arms, nausea, and/or sweating may mean you are having a heart attack. If these are your symptoms, get immediate medical help. It is important to learn the difference between heartburn caused from too much stomach acid and chest pain caused from heart problems.

Extended use of pantoprazole may make it harder for your body to absorb vitamin B12 and cause a vitamin B12 deficiency. This deficiency is rare. Talk with your doctor if you are concerned about getting a vitamin B12 deficiency.
