Daily Life Interactions for Prandin 0.5mg Tablet

Elements of your daily lifestyle may have an effect on the medications you are taking. Drug interactions can result in unwanted side effects, reduce the effectiveness of your medicine or possibly increase the action of a particular medicine.

Moderate Lifestyle Interaction
Alcohol and Prandin 0.5mg Tablet(Repaglinide)
Alcohol and Meglitinides(Repaglinide)
Ethanol may interfere with the actions of Nateglinide or Repaglinide. Alcoholic beverages can increase the risk of low blood sugar, or can cause increased blood sugar due to the calories in these beverages. Limit alcohol containing medicines and beverages if you are on Nateglinide or Repaglinide. You should also learn how to recognize the signs of low blood sugar.
Moderate Lifestyle Interaction
Grapefruit juice and Prandin 0.5mg Tablet(Repaglinide)
Grapefruit juice and Repaglinide(Repaglinide)
Although an interaction is possible, these medicines may be used together. Grapefruit juice may increase the actions of Repaglinide, by decreasing your blood sugar. If you use a blood sugar monitoring device at home, check your blood sugar regularly. You should also learn how to recognize the signs of low blood sugar. Report any significant changes in your blood sugar control to your health care provider.
Minor Lifestyle Interaction
Tobacco and Prandin 0.5mg Tablet(Repaglinide)
Tobacco and Meglitinides(Repaglinide)
If you use tobacco or are trying to quit tobacco use, you may need to monitor your blood sugar more frequently. Nicotine, a component of tobacco, can increase the blood sugar. Also, if you are trying to quit smoking, as your body adjusts to not smoking, your blood sugar levels may change; the actions of Antidiabetic Agents (medicines used to treat diabetes) may be increased and this could lead to low blood sugar. Know the symptoms of low or high blood sugar and report them if they occur. Monitor your blood sugar regularly.
