Pharmacist Tip
Don't drink alcohol while taking promethazine. It can make side effects worse.
Promethazine is in a class of medicines called phenothiazines. Doctors prescribe promethazine for a variety of medical conditions. Promethazine can be used to treat hay fever and allergy symptoms, such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching. Promethazine is also used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, and dizziness.
