What is this Medicine?

BEXAROTENE (bexs AIR oh teen) is used to treat the skin manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. This medicine should only be used in patients who have not responded to at least one other treatment.

Food and Targretin 75mg Capsule(Bexarotene)
Food and Bexarotene(Bexarotene)
Take Bexarotene capsules with a meal. Side effects from oral Bexarotene may get worse if you take the capsules with grapefruit juice. Avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice while taking Bexarotene capsules. There is no interaction with topical Bexarotene gel.

Grapefruit juice and Targretin 75mg Capsule(Bexarotene)
Grapefruit juice and Bexarotene (systemic)(Bexarotene)
Side effects from oral Bexarotene may get worse if you take the capsules with grapefruit juice. Avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice while taking Bexarotene capsules. If you notice new or worsening side effects such as dry skin, rash, decreased energy, or yellowing of skin or eyes, contact your health care provider. There is no interaction with topical Bexarotene gel.

Marijuana and Bexarotene (systemic)(Bexarotene)
Bexarotene can theoretically increase the elimination of Marijuana, Medical from the body. The side effects profile of Marijuana, Medical may be altered if you take Bexarotene. You may feel drowsy or more tired. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you. Contact your health care provider immediately if you notice slurred speech, confusion, increases heart rate, or palpitations while taking Marijuana, Medical.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class X - Adequate well-controlled or observational studies in animals or pregnant women have demonstrated positive evidence of fetal abnormalities or risks. The use of the product is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.

SECOND Trimester

Class X - Adequate well-controlled or observational studies in animals or pregnant women have demonstrated positive evidence of fetal abnormalities or risks. The use of the product is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant.

THIRD Trimester
