What is this Medicine?

TINIDAZOLE (tye NI da zole) is an antiinfective. It is used to treat amebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, and vaginosis. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

When Alcohol is taken by patients receiving Tinidazole, an extremely unpleasant reaction can occur. This reaction includes flushing, throbbing headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, thirst, and other effects that may last from 30 minutes to several hours. You should not drink alcoholic beverages or use medicines that contain a large amount of alcohol while taking Tinidazole. Also continue to avoid Alcohol for about 2-3 days after stopping Tinidazole.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class C - Animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR No animal studies have been conducted and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
