CEFPODOXIME (sef pode OX eem) is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Food and Vantin 100mg/5ml Powder for Suspension(Cefpodoxime Proxetil)
Food and Cefpodoxime Proxetil(Cefpodoxime Proxetil)
Administer Cefpodoxime (Banan, Vantin) tablets with food. Food may increase the absorption of Cefpodoxime tablets. If you are taking Cefpodoxime suspension, it may be taken with or without food.
Pregnancy & Lactation Information
FIRST Trimester

Class B - Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.

SECOND Trimester
