When you arrive at a clinic, you’ll need to sign in at our kiosk. As a walk-in clinic, we treat patients on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you register, the kiosk will display your approximate wait time.
When it’s your turn, the practitioner will bring you into the clinic exam room and conduct your visit. Depending on the care needed, this will include gathering relevant medical history, conducting an examination, performing diagnostic tests or administering a vaccination.
At the end of your visit, the practitioner will review your results and provide instructions and recommendations. This may include a prescription, which you may fill it at the pharmacy of your choice. Your insurance or payment will be processed as well.
The practitioner can send a copy of your visit summary to your primary care provider with your permission.
Every patient visit follows nationally established, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Our practitioners use these guidelines and an Electronic Medical Records system to ensure that all procedures are followed consistently across all of our locations. You can be sure you get the same great medical care at any of our clinics across the country.
In several markets, MinuteClinic is affiliated with leading health systems to enhance access to high-quality health care. These affiliations improve coordination of medical care for patients.
Yes, we want to make sure your primary care provider has information about your visit. Our practitioners will provide you with a summary of your visit and can also send a copy to your primary care provider with your permission.
If you don’t have a primary care provider, our practitioners can provide a list of local hospitals, urgent care centers and physicians accepting new patients. We also provide a list of free or low-cost providers in the area.
No appointment is necessary. Just walk in and sign in at our electronic kiosk.
Our clinics are open seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. Hours vary by clinic. Find a clinic or call 1-866-389-ASAP (2727) for clinic operating hours.
We accept most insurance plans and are continually adding new plans. To see if we accept your health plan, search online now or contact your insurance provider.
Insurance plans and medical coverage can vary. If you have questions about coverage, please contact your health plan. The phone number is usually on the back of your insurance card. Let them know you are seeking medical care at MinuteClinic and they should be able to confirm if your service will be covered and advise you of any co-pays, co-insurance or deductible costs.
If your service is not covered by your insurance, you are uninsured or you prefer to pay out-of-pocket, we also accept cash, checks and credit cards.
We offer the same high-quality care you expect from an urgent care center or emergency department but our services do vary. Urgent care centers offer expanded services, including X-rays. Emergency rooms are best for medical care when you are experiencing a life-threatening illness or injury such as a heart attack or severe bleeding.
We are more affordable as well. Our costs usually 40 to 80% lower than other medical settings.*
