What is this Medicine?

AZTREONAM (AZ tree oh nam) is a monobactam antibiotic. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Pelvic Cellulitis, Peritonitis, Pneumonia, Cystic Fibrosis, Intraabdominal Infections, Septicemia, Cystitis, Diabetic Foot Ulcer, Bronchitis, Gynecologic Infections, Pyelonephritis, Burn Wound Infection, Skin And Skin Structure Infections, Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), Endometritis, Lower Respiratory Tract Infections, Community-acquired Pneumonia

Sometimes used for but not FDA approved for the following conditions:
Febrile Neutropenia, Meningitis, Surgical Infection Prophylaxis

Store at room temperature (between 59 to 86 degrees F)

FIRST Trimester

Class B - Animal studies have revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus, however, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
