What is this Medicine?

BUPROPION; NALTREXONE (byoo PROE pee on; nal TREX one) is a combination product used to promote and maintain weight loss in obese adults or overweight adults who also have weight related medical problems. This medicine should be used with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together, or side effects from Bupropion may get worse if you take Alcohol. If you are taking Bupropion to help you stop smoking, you should pick a date to stop smoking by the second week of your Bupropion treatment. Some people are prescribed a combination of Bupropion with Nicotine replacement therapy (like Nicotine patches) to stop smoking; in this case, you should stop Tobacco smoking before you start using the Nicotine treatment.

Try to limit Caffeine intake during Bupropion use. Many non-prescription medicines and weight loss aids may contain caffeine, so read labels carefully. Examples of foods and beverages containing caffeine include coffee, teas, colas, energy drinks, chocolate, and some herbal or dietary supplements.
