What is this Medicine?

METRONIDAZOLE (me troe NI da zole) is an antiinfective. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial and protozoal infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Alcohol and Flagyl 375mg Capsule(Metronidazole)
Alcohol and Metronidazole(Metronidazole)
You should not drink alcoholic beverages or use medicines that contain Alcohol as an ingredient while taking Metronidazole. This includes products containing Propylene Glycol, a type of alcohol. Also continue to avoid Alcohol or Propylene Glycol for about 3 days after stopping Metronidazole. When products containing Alcohol (including medicines with a significant amount of alcohol in them) or Propylene Glycol are taken by patients receiving Metronidazole, an extremely unpleasant reaction can occur. This reaction includes flushing, throbbing headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, thirst, and other effects that may last from 30 minutes to several hours. Interactions with Metronidazole vaginal or topical skin products are not likely.
