Works, but Side Effects Unpleasant
I tried this drug years ago for migraines, but stopped and switched treatments after experiencing an unpleasant side effect of a burning sensation. My neurologist recommended Imitrex after a car accident caused horrible headaches. The burning in my head and nose returned. The drug takes away the pain, but caused unpleasant side effects for me.

Not The Best
This medication has only worked once out of 6 uses for me. The side effects are almost as bad as the migraine itself. It makes me feel like I'm burning between my brain and skull. It also makes my nose burn.

my life saver
I've been taking SUMATRIPTAN 100 mg for many years. I get 1 to 2 migraines/month, on average. In most cases, one tablet will get rid of the headache in about 30 minutes, no matter how severe it is. On rare occasions, the migraine comes back the following morning, with reduced intensity, in which case I take one more tablet, and that's the end of the story. In terms of side effects, occasionally I get a barely noticeable feeling of sleepiness

Relief w/i minutes
I've taken Imitrex/Sumatriptan for over 20 years. Tried the spray, pills and the injection. The injections are the only thing that relieves my migraines w/I 30 min. The burning sensation at the injection site is the only thing that affects me but I read if they are cooler like in the fridge for a couple of min. that it won't hurt as bad. Going to try next time I need one. Thank God for this medication

Miracle Drug
I've been taking Imitrex for about 10 years at the onset of a migraine, and consider it to be a miracle drug. Relief from a migraine starts within about 5 minutes after injection and lasts for hours. The only issue I have is stinging and itching at the injection site; however, that's a small price to pay for migraine relief! .

Migraine Cure
I have been taking sumatriptan for about 10 years and it has aborted every migraine I have had. I take it when I have an onset of one sided dull headache. It totally relieves pains and also muscle aches. The first day I am sleepy after taking it and then the second day I experience insomnia. It must have an effect on serotonin that causes these symptoms. I have also noticed increase floaters in my left eye along with dryness. Any side effects doesn't negate the fact I do not have any more full blown migraines. I usually take 50 mg and rarely have to take another one.

Heavy migraines
Have taken many pills for my migraines and this one has been the only pill that has brought my migraine from a 10 to a 2 in pain level. Can tolerate very well during the day. Not sluggish or tired or have any side affect that would keep me from my daily activities.

Works most of the time
These are the only pills so far that have been able to do any actual good towards my migraines. Instead of getting 4 or 5 a month, they have been reduced to maybe 1 or 2. For me that is a life saver, with these I don't have to worry about being sluggish for the rest of the day like with other migraine pills.

Works well to disipate migraines, but extreme side effects
This medication usually takes my migraine away within an hour or so, however I suffer nearly unbearable side effects for hours after taking it. My jaw and throat become extremely sore, my heart races, and my entire body feels painfully tingly. So, it's definitely a medication that should only be used for the most extreme of migraines. My doctor also prescribes me Fioricet w/Codeine, so that I can take Sumatriptan as infrequently as possible. But, as my fellow migraine sufferers know, sometimes experiencing hours of body pain is a fair trade off for being free of a debilitating migraine.

Finally Something That Works
I've only taken this twice so far, but both times, my migraines were totally gone within 30 minutes and I was up and about doing things. Being able to inject is tough sometimes, but it isn't too painful. When I take it, within minutes, my jaw hurts a bit and I feel pressure in my head, but as the symptoms diffuse, so does the migraine, and I'm left feeling great.

Wonder Drug
This medication has improved the quality of my life 1000 percent!! I no longer have to go into work completely miserable or worse, take a sick day due to migraine headaches. Imitrex works for me in about 20 minutes if taken at the first indications that a migraine is approaching. I haven't experienced any side effects that I am aware of so far and since generic medication is now free with my insurance I couldn't ask for more except for this medication to have become available from the time I first started to suffer with migraines or to never have had them at all.

works well for me, at least in the short term
I've used sumatriptan succinate 50 mg five times so far for migraine headaches without aura, including one time that caused intense visual hallucinations when I'd try to fall asleep. Four of those five times, including the one with the hallucinations, it worked like a charm! I'd take it, feel the symptoms fade out over the next couple of hours, go to sleep, and wake up feeling great! You apparently have to be careful to not take it too often, though.
