Common Side Effects of Ventolin
Tell your doctor if you have:
  • Heart problems
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Thyroid disease
  • Low potassium in the blood
  • History of seizures or convulsions
You should let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding while using Ventolin HFA.

Ventolin HFA may cause an allergic reaction. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any symptoms including a skin rash, itching, hives, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, or swelling of your hands, face, or mouth while taking Ventolin HFA.

Also, contact your doctor right away if you notice other serious side effects of Ventolin HFA, including:
  • Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
  • Wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, or trouble breathing, especially after starting a new canister of Ventolin HFA
  • Symptoms of high blood pressure
  • Symptoms of low potassium, including confusion, uneven heart rate, extreme thirst, increased urination, leg discomfort, muscle weakness, or limp feeling
  • Worsening of other medical problems, including increased blood sugar levels
Some common side effects of Ventolin HFA may include:
  • Runny nose
  • Shakiness
  • Nervousness
  • Headache
  • Pain
  • Dizziness
  • Sore throat
  • Rapid heartbeat or heart palpitations
  • Chest pain
Talk with your doctor if these or any side effects worsen, will not go away, or worry you.
