Frequently asked questions

MinuteClinic®, Oak Street Health, and Signify Health are now part of our broader CVS Healthspire health services offering, which also includes CVS Caremark® and CVS Specialty®.

Our family nurse practitioners and physician associates can perform the following services:

  • Diagnose, treat and write prescriptions* for common family illnesses, such as bladder infections, pink eye, strep throat, and infections of the ears, nose and throat.
  • Provide common vaccinations for flu, hepatitis, pertussis (whooping cough) and pneumonia, among others.
  • Treat minor abrasions, joint sprains and wounds as well as skin conditions like acne, lice, poison ivy and ringworm.
  • Provide a wide range of wellness services, including sports and camp physicals, health screenings, tuberculosis (TB) testing, a weight-loss program, and the Start to Stop® smoking-cessation program.
  • Offer routine laboratory tests, instant results and education for those with diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

In May 2023, CVS Health completed its acquisition of Oak Street Health. Oak Street Health specializes in primary care for older adults.

Their patients can expect a health care experience that includes quality time with their provider, same or next day appointments (at most locations), and a 24/7 patient support line. In addition to doctors and nurses, the care team includes behavioral health services, social workers and Medicare education and support. Learn about Oak Street Health.

In March 2023, CVS Health completed its acquisition of Signify Health. Signify Health's network of licensed clinicians (nurse practitioners, physicians and physician associates) use home-based visits to identify a patient's clinical and social needs and then connect them to appropriate follow-up care and needed resources.
