Hot Rollers
How to get it
Creating the Look You Want With Hot Rollers
Hot rollers are used to shape your hair into curls, waves and ringlets. They resemble self-grip hair rollers except they use heat to set your curls.
These convenient styling tools come in different barrel sizes to suit the length of your hair. Hot rollers for long hair, for example, are usually 2 inches in diameter.
How Do You Use Hot Rollers?
Similar to hairstyling appliances, such as curling irons or flat irons, hot rollers need to be plugged in and heated before use.
Depending on the model, they can take anywhere from 2-20 minutes to heat. Most sets have indicator lights that let you know when the rollers are fully heated and ready to go.
Once the rollers are warm, remove them from the storage case, and roll them into your hair to achieve your desired style.
How Do You Put in Hot Rollers?
Your hair should be clean and dry for best results. You can apply your favorite styling product or a heat protectant before you begin.
Using a comb, create a section of hair that's almost as wide as the roller. Starting near the bottom of the section, wind your hair around the roller, and clip it into place. Move on to the next section of hair and repeat. Once the rollers are in, unplug the appliance, and let your curls set. You can apply your makeup or get dressed while you wait.
How Long Do You Leave Hot Rollers In?
On average, hot rollers stay in between 20 and 30 minutes or until they're cool to the touch, but follow the manufacturer's instructions. The ideal setting time also depends on how thick or thin your hair is.
When you're ready, unclip the roller, and gently remove it from your hair. Apply hair spray if you wish to hold your curls in place. Return the rollers to their case, so they're ready for next time.
