I bought this Colgate optic whitening mouthwash last March. I used it exactly as directed for approximately one week and had to stop. It created reddened areas cankor sores all over the underside of my upper lip. The left side eventually healed, but the right side continued to remain inflamed with intermittent sore outbreaks. It was awful. Diet changes didn't work. I ended seeing my primary dentist twice, and my primary care physician, who then referred me to an oral surgeon last month. He prescribed me a rinse, along with continued strict dietary changes (nothing acidic, no alcohol, no pepper, no soda, no hot food), and they eventually went away, as of a couple weeks ago. My oral health was perfect before using this whitening product.
