Expired for nearly four years!
Sure, there's a sign on the locked door that you should check expiration dates for various CVS devices, but I trusted that CVS would not have an A1c test that expired three years and 10 months ago. I was wrong. The test gave wildly inaccurate readings and the whole experience was very upsetting. CVS spends a lot of time locking up all of its products. It should spend more time vetting what is on the shelves and making sure there are not beyond their expiration dates. Good but not as accurate as hoped
Heard a lot of good things about the accuracy of these but also I never ignore the margin of error. unfortunately, my actual a1c was in the collective margin of error. (Ie first test was 5.7, second test was 5.4, a1c was 6.1. a1c was taken less than a day after the second test ,17ish hours.) The margin of error is .5%. So as relieved as I was to see progress, it was overshadowed by the disappointment of the inaccuracies. I know your mileage may vary as I've found my cgms tend to see well. Not even close to accurate
