Please please bring back the old formula! This new version is terrible, it smells awful, sprays way too heavy making my fine hair stiff and dull, and the new cans clog too easily! Allergic to new fragrance
I have been using Volume Lift hair spray for many years and it was wonderful. Just tried the new version and will not be able to use it. I had an allergic reaction to the fragrance, experiencing sneezing and headache. The previous version was far superior
I am reposting the review I shared on another website of John Frieda because, as a long time consumer of this product, I would like to be heard. The main downgrade in this new version (the one shown in the picture I uploaded) is that the formula no longer provides the same styling power hold. Unlike the previous version, the new formula DOES NOT hold my hair in the shape I style it into effectively. That also results in noticeably less volume, as the formula no longer manages to keep the hair spread out in shape the way the previous one did. The new version also seems to make the hair look more dull compared to the previous one. Furthermore in this new version the product no longer spreads evenly across large surfaces of the hair when applied. Instead, it tends to concentrate on specific areas and makes the hair overly wet. In other words, this version makes the hair more dull than the previous one, does not hold the shape I create when styling my hair, and lacks the volume that the previous formula provided. The previous version had the perfect balance of hold, volume, light - weight texture and brushability, with none of these coming at the expense of the others. The slogans "Good before-Incredible after" and "New look-Same incredible results" sadly do not reflect my experience. I am 24 years old and I had been using this product for at least 6 years and regularly purchased multiple pieces in single orders (boxes of 10-15 pieces each time) as an individual consumer. Now I find myself looking for an alternative product. This is very disappointing for me, because the previous formula was able to maintain the hairstyle I wanted: my signature look of full, voluminous hair. If the manufacturers wanted to introduce a new version, they should at least have kept the previous version on the market as an option. BAD PRODUCT. The old FORMULA was changed.
Long time Buyers BEWARE… This hairspray isn’t the same anymore! Throughout the years the cans have changed. But this time, It’s not only the can that has changed, but the formula of the hairspray as well! This hairspray isn’t the same as it was for so many years. Why change an EXCELLENT product that so many people have been using for years and absolutely loved? It doesn’t make sense! This new formula doesn’t make thin hair feel and appear fuller like before. It isn’t a flexible hold like it was. It’s more of a Firm Hold (4) now to be exact and doesn’t do anything for people with very fine thin hair like mine. I would not recommend this hairspray to anyone with fine thin hair. I hope John Freida brings back the old formula. Very disappointed! Smells weird
Why did you change a great hairspray? The new smell is nauseating! Im so disappointed. I have been using your hairspray for years. When the price went up I still bought it because it held great and didn't stink. The new hairspray doesn't seem to hold as well and I just can't take the smell. Terrible smell. Can't you make an unscented hairspray? Please?
