I used Konsyl for 35 years. About 2 years ago I noticed it was as not nearly as effective. I called Konsyl and spoke to Patti. She told me Konsyl sold their milling equipment and there were many dissatisfied customers. The original Konsyl had “Psyllium Hydrophilic Mucilloid 6G” in it. The new formula does not, as far as I can tell. Patti assured me over a year ago that the formula I used for 35 years is coming back and that Konsyl had to “rebuild” their milling equipment. That was well over a year ago and I recently bought a bag, and it’s still not the formula I have grown accustomed to. The current product is not good, does not work well at all, and is barely effective. Great way to increase fiber in your diet
I bought this because a Gastroenterologist suggested that having a fiber supplement before meals would create a barrier to keep stomach acid down. I’ve been on Omeprazole for 3 years and it concerns me. It actually has been helping. I mix it with either water or juice and drink it right before I cook my meals. It’s not really gritty. It’s more like a bunch of tiny gel blobs in what ever liquid you mix it in. The taste reminds me of cream of wheat without sugar in it, so it’s not offensive. This product works for me.
I have been taking this product for months and it does work for me. The taste is awful, but I have gotten use to just putting it into 8 oz. Bottle of water.
