Pretty, but lighter than expected
My hair was medium blonde and I wanted to go a little darker. Got the 7N, but it made my hair even lighter. The color is really pretty, though. Love the amount of conditioner. One box was enough for my hair, even if it had been longer. Didn't smell bad or burn. Next time I will try the 6N to see if it will darken my blonde hair.{{userCount} users found this review helpful.Originally posted on lorealparisusa.com - Hane915Reviewed 3 months ago
Way too dark and flat
This is my first time using L’Oréal Excellence Universal Nudes 5N. I usually use Garnier Nutrisse Naural Brown 50. My hair was getting too red with this product. I liked that the L’Oréal product did not have amonia. Unfortunately, after following the instructions, my hair looks almost black. As I read other reviews I wish I had read them before using this product. Not only is the color way too dark but the color is flat. No dimension. Last time! I can’t wait until it starts to wash out!Reply from L'Oreal3 months agoHi there - Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The color isn't right.
The color isn't right. My hair turned out black, and I applied shade 5N Natural Brown.Reply from L'Oreal4 months agoHi Leydi! We apologize that Excellence Universal Nudes 5N-Natural Brown looks darker that intended. There are many reasons why haircolor results can come out too dark. The most common reason is due to the hair's porosity, you are left with a result that is much darker than intended. Over time as you shampoo it will become lighter. When it is time to color again, choose a lighter shade and follow the instructions for a root touch application.Regards,LeCare{{userCount} users found this review helpful.Originally posted on lorealparisusa.com - TeriBReviewed 4 months ago
No Ammonia!
Love that this has NO AMMONIA. Why can’t you remove the AMMONIA FROM YOUR OTHER haircolor products???{{userCount} users found this review helpful.Originally posted on lorealparisusa.com - April8Reviewed 6 months ago

Very Disappointed. Hair is almost black.
The color on the box is very misleading. I have used other L'Oreal hair dye products and have always been very happy with the results. I wanted to try anothe L'Oreal product. I used 5N and my hair looks almost black. It was a light to medium brown before I dyed it. I will never use the L'Oreal color preference again and will not recommend to anyone.Reply from L'Oreal8 months agoHi MSM2713! We apologize you were not satisfied with the results you achieved with Excellence Universal Nudes Brown 5N. We know how disappointing it can be to look forward to a new application of color only to find that your results are not what you expected. There are many reasons why haircolor results can come out too dark. Once you have color-treated hair, we suggest following the touch up application method to achieve optimal results. Otherwise, by doing full head application, due to the porosity of the color-treated hair, you are left with a haircolor result that is much darker than intended. The color will fade as you shampoo. We appreciate the feedback which will be shared with others in our company.Regards,LeCare{{userCount} users found this review helpful.Originally posted on lorealparisusa.com
