I have us Voluminous curved brush mascara for over 20 years. Sadly I had to stop using it this June - each time I used the mascara my eyes would become irritated, itchy, watery and become extremely swollen. Initally I thought the reaction was due to an old tube, so I tried a new tube even different colors (black, brown and burgundy) all resulting in the same allergic reaction. I went makeup free during the summer to give my eyes a break and tried a new tube for the first day of school and ended the school day with red swollen eyes. Basically waterproof anymore
I’ve been using the voluminous mascara for close to 30 years. I recommend to everyone and always have… until recently It’s completely different! Starts burning my eyes mid day and ITS BASICALLY WATERPROOF now… if I wanted waterproof then I’d buy waterproof… I want the original voluminous mascara back! An absolute beast to remove--you will lose lashes!
I was using this product religiously for awhile and now I've the past several months it has distinctly changed to wear it no longer washes off with warm soapy water...and barely responds to micellar water or makeup cleaner wipes designed for waterproof mascara! It has been a nightmare trying to get it off my lashes and I. The process I lost many of them which is heartbreaking and also a little engaging. I never buy waterproof mascara for this very reason...I end up with half the lashes I started with! You can't market this formula anymore as being washable! Huge disappointment.
I've used colored mascara for a few years now so I thought I'd try these 2 colors. What a disappointment! Not only are the colors not apparent on my lashes (still look black), the formula is highly irritating to my eyes, pretty clumpy and took 5 or 6 tries to fully remove, which caused further irritation.
