Whats happened to the 1 minute quick oats??

There has been some kind of change with the 1 minute quick oats over the last few months. My husband and I have been eating them for years and always make them as directed. But now they don't look the same in the package and after cooked, they are soupy and very chewy. Horrible and can't be eaten. We thought at first we got a hold of maybe the Gluten Free by mistake. But cking the container, it says 1 minute oats. Then we found they don't look the same dry in the package as they used to. Smaller pieces and hard pieces and no flat pieces as they used to be. Not sure whats happened, but we are on our 4 package, bought from different stores and they are awful.

    Something changed! Just Gross

As others have mentioned the 1 minute oats are not the same. Something changed about 2 months ago. The oats do not cook properly, they won't absorb water and no matter how long you cook they are hard little chewy pellets. They are yucky! so disappointing. These should be recalled for grossness!

    Horrible

I have been eating Quaker Oats Quick for many many years. When I bought a container I thought they packaged steel oats or other oats. It is coarse, hard pieces nothing like it use to be. I bought a new container at a different store it is the same horrible. Why did they change it. I won't be buying this ever again.

    Watery & Grainy Texture

Not the same as it used to be!! Watery and grainy now. I’ve tried everything to fix it from changing amount of water to time in the microwave and nothing helps! Very upsetting

    Delicious, Easy & Satisfying

1 min oats are delicious. I cook mine in water and add dried cranberries, walnuts, splash of milk &brown sugar or maple syrup.

Why chaff now? None in prior (5) years ago.

I have been eating Quaker oatmeal for 60 years. It seems chaff is more prevalent in Quaker oatmeal than it was in the past 10 years ago seems like no chaff. Now every bowl has at least a few pieces of chaff. Try harder to glean out the chaff. Other brands cost more but have no chaff.

    New lid design is terrible

The product itself is fine but the new lid design is absolute garbage. The easy grip stick-out bit means that there is no true seal on the lid. I tipped the canister slightly to get my oats out of my cabinet today (as I have always done! It wasn't dropped or impacted, it's just that the height of my shelves requires I tip the tall container at a small angle to have a smooth removal) and oats burst out of the lid immediately and got all over my kitchen. An incredibly frustrating experience given that the previous full circle lid design could handle the product shifting around slightly as it gets handled for regular daily use. Surely there is a world in which we can have easier grip lids that still stay closed.
