[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dye is probably really good on lighter hair but I used this on my daughter and her hair is a medium to dark brown and it barely showed up. So glad I didn’t try it on myself since my hair is jet black. Her hair had a little red color to it in the sun but it wasn’t too noticeable. Because demi-permanent formulas deposit color without lifting or bleaching your natural hair, the final result depends heavily on your starting shade. On medium to dark brown hair, darker tones like Black Coffee will generally show up as a subtle, warm reflection rather than a drastic change. You are entirely correct that it will not show up on jet black hair, as the formula cannot lighten hair. WORKS FAST! Phenomenal color!
Works fast and I mean FAST! If you have finer, light brown/ dark bronze hair I would hiiiighly recommend shortening the time to be about half the time it recommends first. I followed the directions actually the first time and this was the BLACKEST BLACK I’ve ever seen my hair. I was going for a more natural black hair look, and it took a few weeks to fade to the shade I was originally going for. Half the time seemed to be exactly as the shade I was expecting (once again, probably due to that I have very fine, darker blonde/light brown hair) That being said this is the BEST DYI hair dye brand I’ve ever found!!!! 5 stars across the board! Besides the packaging it was great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My container came punctured or something because the color was coming out of holes when I was mixing the color and peroxide or whatever together. I made due and just dripped the excess into the bottle and then I applied generously and it came out cute! Beautiful colors!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color!!! It is beautiful! I really like how the color also doesn’t stain your skin nor is it hard to get off your skin. It also leaves your hair feeling soft and not fried. The packaging/application process was super simple with the bottle applicator. I will say that it was a little tough to fully mix up in the bottle. A little disappointment
