MinuteClinic health care providers also offer personalized treatment plans for other illnesses that are common during flu season, including:

How can MinuteClinic help me prepare for flu season?

One of the best ways to prepare for flu season is to get an up-to-date flu shot. MinuteClinic offers the flu shot to patients at no cost for most insurance plans at over 900 clinics nationwide.

Flu season can vary every year, but it typically begins in early October and can continue through as late as May. It's a good idea to get the flu shot as soon as the season starts. Doing so will reduce your chances of getting the flu. In fact, the CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older receive a flu vaccine annually as soon as the season starts to get optimal protection from the flu.

If you do get sick with the flu, MinuteClinic health care providers are available to help you find relief from flu symptoms. At an appointment for any of our flu-related services, a MinuteClinic provider will discuss your symptoms, examine you, administer a rapid flu test for diagnosis and recommend medication. They may recommend prescription medicine, or they can suggest over-the-counter remedies available at any pharmacy, including CVS Pharmacy.

Who provides flu shots at MinuteClinic?

When you come to MinuteClinic to receive the flu vaccine, one of our professional nurse practitioners, physician associates or licensed nurses will administer your shot. They possess all of the licenses, certifications, and clinical experience required to safely administer the flu shot to adults and children. Our health care providers can also administer high-dose flu shots for adults 65 years and older.

When addressing any health issue, it’s understandable to be concerned with safety. Not only is the flu vaccine provided to patients by skilled medical professionals but the vaccine itself is safe. It won’t cause you to get the flu, and it’s regularly updated to keep up with any changes in the virus.

How does MinuteClinic help me save money on flu-related services?

You can make the most of flu-related services at MinuteClinic at a lower cost than what you typically would pay at an urgent care facility or the emergency room.

Flu shots at MinuteClinic are also free of charge with most insurance plans, so you can protect yourself from the flu without having to worry about your finances.
