Power Strips vs. Surge Protectors

There is a significant difference between power strips and surge protectors. Power strips offer multiple outlets so you have more space to plug several things in from one outlet, but that's about where their benefits end. Surge protectors provide exceptional protection against severe power spikes so that your electronics don't short out. A strong surge in power can "kill" some electronics, costing you a lot of money in the long run. Yes, power strips do contain a circuit breaker but they do not offer true protection against electrical issues, where a surge protector does.
