Women's Incontinence Products Deliver Secure Protection

If you experience bladder leakage, women's incontinence products can keep you feeling dry and more confident. You can choose from several types of women's incontinence products, all designed with the female anatomy in mind to maximize absorbency and effectiveness.

What are the Best Women's Incontinence Brands?

What Are the Best Products for Women's Incontinence?

Women's incontinence products come in various types, including incontinence pads and underwear. The severity of your bladder leaking and your preferences can help you choose the best women's incontinence underwear or pads for your situation.

If you prefer underwear, start by looking at the fit. It comes in sizes ranging from small to extra large. While it's typically stretchy on the sides, getting the correct size helps incontinence underwear fit comfortably and work properly.

Next, consider the absorbency level you need. If you have minor leakage, you might choose light protection. For more severe bladder leaks, a heavier absorbency product is more effective. You can also find incontinence options with features that meet your needs, such as extra odor protection or longer-length pads to increase the coverage area.

Which Incontinence Underwear Is Most Absorbent?

In general, you get better protection from incontinence underwear than incontinence pads. If you have heavy bladder leakage and want the most absorption possible, choose incontinence pads or underwear labeled heavy, maximum or ultimate absorbency. Overnight incontinence products also typically have a higher absorbency level.

Look for indicators on the packaging that describe the absorbency. Products from Poise and other brands often have a scale on the front with drops depicting where on the scale that product falls. Choose an option with the highest absorbency on the brand's scale. Pay attention to the sizing as well. Products that fit properly can capture the urine more effectively.

How Often Should Women's Incontinence Products Be Changed?

Generally, change women's incontinence products when they start to feel damp against your skin. The absorbent core pulls the urine away from your skin to keep you feeling dry throughout the day. When it reaches capacity, you can feel damp, which is a sign to change the product. You might also change your incontinence briefs or pads if they start to feel heavy, bulky or full or if you notice an odor from the urine. Some people might need to change their products every few hours if they have heavy bladder leakage, while others might go most of the day without needing a change.
