We want to make sure our coffees are created responsibly, using methods that don't just take care of the people who make them, but also the world we live in. In 2010, we started the NESCAFÉ Plan, a global initiative that guarantees the future supply of coffee through responsible farming and sustainable production of coffee. This comprehensive scheme is designed to positively influence the coffee value chain. Through it, we ensure that our actions are having a positive impact in the livelihoods of coffee farmers/workers, their communities and landscapes. Nestlé has worked through the IDH (Dutch Sustainable trade initiative), with other coffee manufacturers as part of the SCP (Sustainable Coffee Programme) to eliminate the use of harmful chemicals. Moreover, our practices get audited by independent organizations like PAN (Pesticide Action Network) who assure no banned substances are used in our supply chains. NESCAFÉ Clasico is 100% pure coffee, made from a blend of selected coffee beans (both Arabica and Robusta). Coffee beans used in the production of NESCAFÉ Clasico can be sourced from South and Central America as well as select Asian growers.
