The NP was unprofessional
I was very pleased with the service provided by the practitioner. She took a balanced approach to my needs and care. At the same time, she was very thorough with the examination.
Decided to try minute clinic for weight loss program. Initial visit was fine, at second visit I was prescribed wegovy 1.5mg and was told she will submit a prior authorization to try and get medication covered. I went back and forth with pharmacy, customer service and provider. Provider stated pharmacy never alerted them med required PA. Pharmacy said they sent it and refused to call provider. They told me to tell provider to call my insurance since they don’t initiate prior auths. I called customer service again and a different provider called me and said she would have someone work on pa. I end up paying out of pocket. Continued to follow up and get nowhere. I scheduled and went to a visit to get next dose the provider does not know how to submit a prior authorization and insisted pharmacy never sent anything. I explained I’m a Clinical Liaison and can walk her through submitting a pa online. She refused and I provided my pharmacy help desk number and asked if she can call it in. She refused and then started to tell me I really shouldn’t be on this medication and should try diet and exercise. I felt like she was trying to shame me for being on medication to avoid submitting a prior authorization. Now my treatment is delayed and I will have to find a new dr and restart starter dose. I recommend training on prior authorizations for clinical teams that will be prescribing. I called my insurance and medication is covered on plan formulary but requires pa due to labs needing to be sent along with request. I thought keeping med at CVS would make process easier but there is no SOP in place for this situation.

Did no feel heard or understood or helped with my visit
The check in was easy to navigate. The wait time wasn't too long. The care I received was superb. I was treated with respect. The medical practitioner listened to my symptoms and concerns. She diagnosed my condition and thoroughly explained what I needed to know in a kind and professional manner. She gave me instructions and information without being patronizing or judgmental. I needed a prescription medication which she promptly sent to the pharmacy. It was nice to have everything taken care of in one building.
My experience was flawless, The Provider was amazing. What she suggested worked and she was kind and her office was super clean. Pure professionalism.
