The nurse practitioner was excellent. She did a very good job on my Shingles Vaccine shot. I did not have any arm pain. I came to the Minute Clinic as opposed to the pharmacy based CVS vaccinations since I thought a nurse practitioner would do a better shot administering the shot. My first Shingles shot was with a pharmacist and they really rushed the shot and my arm hurt for a week. This time the nurse did a great job

At a friend’s recommendation I went to Minute Clinic for a UTI. The entire experience was phenomenal. I was seen quickly by a friendly and knowledgeable provider who diagnosed me through testing and my prescription was filled within minutes. A top notch experience and I’m feeling much better today!

Seasonal flu shots

When the days get shorter and before the weather becomes cold and damp, bring your family to our MinuteClinic® for this year’s influenza shots. The flu is a virus that affects the throat, nose and lungs. With symptoms including chills, fever, body and headaches, it can leave you feeling tired and rundown for weeks. Since the virus mutates from one year to the next, the flu shot you got last year may not protect you against the strain that strikes this year.

It takes up to two weeks for the vaccine to become fully active in your body, so it’s recommended that you be immunized before local cases are reported. Even if there is an outbreak in your office, school or neighborhood, updating your vaccination may still protect you from some of the most severe symptoms and shorten the recovery time if you get sick within the two weeks.

About the Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease. Generally, the flu may resolve on its own. However, if the flu goes untreated, you may be at risk for complications that can be life-threatening. Those that might be at a higher risk of severe flu complications include children under 5, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. If you fall into any of these categories, it is essential that you take strides towards flu prevention by getting your flu shot at MinuteClinic. The flu shot works by exposing you to an inactive flu virus and the flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body after vaccination. These antibodies will help to protect you if you are exposed to the flu virus. Essentially, getting a flu shot prepares your body to fight the flu.

Why Get A Flu Shot?

Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the people around you. Influenza sends a countless number of patients into hospitals each year – don’t be one of them. There are two types of flu shots – a seasonal vaccine for adults and children (preservative-free available, upon request) and a high dose vaccine (for ages 65+). While you can take preventative measures, getting immunized with the influenza vaccine is your best defense against the flu. Each year, new strains of the flu develop. While you may have gotten a flu shot in the past, you may not be protected from the new strands. Although flu vaccines may not be 100% effective, it is still the best defense against the virus. Don’t fall victim to the flu this year – stop by MinuteClinic and get your flu shot today!
