Acton is a vibrant community with several youth sports programs and activities. The local conservation areas, parks and ponds provide the opportunity to get out and enjoy hiking, fishing, camping and boating. Whether on the ball field or at Camp Acton, Spring Hill and Nashoba Brook, accidents can happen, from painful muscle and tendon injuries to cuts, scrapes and bug bites. Come into our MinuteClinic® and let our medical professionals assess and treat the issue so that you and your family can get relief fast. We handle many common problems, and no appointment is needed.
- Sprains and strains
- Joint pain
- Shallow cuts and abrasions
- Insect bites and stings
- Splinter removal
- Minor burns and blisters
Ticks are found throughout Massachusetts, and they can spread a variety of diseases from Lyme and Babesiosis to Tularemia and Powassan virus. Visit the walk-in clinic near me if a tick has burrowed into your skin. Our practitioners have the skill and experience to remove it, treat the area and provide the follow-up care needed.
Seasonal flu shots
When the days get shorter and before the weather becomes cold and damp, bring your family to our MinuteClinic® for this year’s influenza shots. The flu is a virus that affects the throat, nose and lungs. With symptoms including chills, fever, body and headaches, it can leave you feeling tired and rundown for weeks. Since the virus mutates from one year to the next, the flu shot you got last year may not protect you against the strain that strikes this year.
It takes up to two weeks for the vaccine to become fully active in your body, so it’s recommended that you be immunized before local cases are reported. Even if there is an outbreak in your office, school or neighborhood, updating your vaccination may still protect you from some of the most severe symptoms and shorten the recovery time if you get sick within the two weeks.
Relief for frequent ailments
Unfortunately, allergies and colds can strike any time of year. Visit our clinic inside CVS Pharmacy® when you first notice the symptoms, from sinus congestion and watery eyes to sudden coughing fits. Talk with our nurse practitioners about your medical history and current condition. They can determine if your cough is a symptom of a cold, allergy or something more significant. The on-staff medical professionals have advanced training to treat many common ailments and prescribe medication if needed.
