My practitioner was great, listened to me and have me all of the information I needed. She was very kind when removing the bandage I had applied, and very clean and thorough in everything. I did not get the name of the woman who was at the concierge desk, but she was also very helpful. The clinic waiting area is so much nicer and cleaner feeling than it was before Covid, and I hope youll keep the new, lovely set up going forward.

Very positive experience, from making the appointment all the way through the appointment. The PA was wonderful — she explained the procedure, answered questions and was very kind.

I was helped by the NP on site and she was so nice and helpful. Very professional and knew what to do for my health screening. Very friendly and courteous. I normally go to a closer minute clinic, but I think I would return to this location because they were so nice and helpful. Thanks to both who helped me there.

We believe preventative care is just as important as diagnostic care

At CVS Pharmacy®, our goal is to keep the entire Annapolis community healthy. A large part of doing this involves administering vaccinations to prevent common and not so common diseases. For instance, our MinuteClinic® carries each year’s flu shot formula, which we begin to administer right before the start of flu season. The formula is specially designed to combat the particular strain of influenza that researchers suspect will infect the population this year. Though not 100 percent effective against the virus, the antibodies from the vaccine can help prevent adverse and life-threatening complications, such as pneumonia, sinus infections and ear infections. Additional immunizations that our clinic offers include the following:

  • MMR
  • Tdap
  • Polio
  • Meningitis
  • HPV
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Shingles

Because we carry most insurances, chances are that these protections will come at no cost to you. If you’re not sure if our services are covered under your plan, contact your provider or our clinic to inquire today.

About the Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease. Generally, the flu may resolve on its own. However, if the flu goes untreated, you may be at risk for complications that can be life-threatening. Those that might be at a higher risk of severe flu complications include children under 5, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. If you fall into any of these categories, it is essential that you take strides towards flu prevention by getting your flu shot at MinuteClinic. The flu shot works by exposing you to an inactive flu virus and the flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body after vaccination. These antibodies will help to protect you if you are exposed to the flu virus. Essentially, getting a flu shot prepares your body to fight the flu.

Why Get A Flu Shot?

Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the people around you. Influenza sends a countless number of patients into hospitals each year – don’t be one of them. There are two types of flu shots – a seasonal vaccine for adults and children (preservative-free available, upon request) and a high dose vaccine (for ages 65+). While you can take preventative measures, getting immunized with the influenza vaccine is your best defense against the flu. Each year, new strains of the flu develop. While you may have gotten a flu shot in the past, you may not be protected from the new strands. Although flu vaccines may not be 100% effective, it is still the best defense against the virus. Don’t fall victim to the flu this year – stop by MinuteClinic and get your flu shot today!
