What is this medicine?

TAMSULOSIN (tam SOO loe sin) is used to treat enlargement of the prostate gland in men, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. It is not for use in women. It works by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. This improves urine flow and reduces BPH symptoms.

Works as intended
Doctor prescribed to help with the trickle effect. Works great, back to normal stream, bladder fully drains, eliminated frequent bathroom trips. I have not experienced any dizziness side effects. I take it in the evening after work, so I'm home relaxing, sleeping off the side effects if there were any.

All aboard
While i have just started to use this med, I do not have much information on it but will say this: while it is a pill, it may not be easy to take for some as it is quite large, and a floaty caplet, some may find it unpleasant to swallow.

Did the job
ER doctor prescribed this for me to pass a kidney stone. I am female and she said it would relax the bladder muscles and help move the stone out of the urethra. The next day the stone passed. I had a bad headache and stuffy nose from the medication the next morning but it was worth it!

Makes me dizzy, same number of wake up calls
This was prescribed to reduce the number of times I wake up at night for bathroom calls. I still wake up about the same number of times and in addition, I get dizzy spells. I get dizzy spells anyway from Meniere's Disease but just when I think I am fine, if I take this pill, they come back within 24 to 48 hours.
