Getting vaccinated

  • Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing serious illness caused by COVID-19.
  • Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is fully approved by the FDA for age 16+. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) has been granted for ages 5 to 15. Two doses are required for full vaccination.
  • Two doses of Moderna and a single dose of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines are available under EUAs for age 18+.
  • Did you know? COVID-19 and flu are two different viruses. Getting both vaccines is recommended.

Boosters are worth a shot

CDC recommended booster shots can help provide continued, long-lasting protection against severe complications, hospitalization and death from COVID-19 for select individuals.

You can choose which booster you receive, as the CDC's guidelines now allow you to mix and match dosing for booster shots.

Vaccine side effects

  • Minor side effects are normal signs that your body is building protection.
  • Common side effects may include pain at the injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle and joint pain or chills and fever.
  • The vaccine does not contain the virus so it cannot give you COVID-19.
