I Went to CVS MinuteClinic for a very minor sore throat, no fever, no real symptoms, just looking for basic guidance before I visit my parents to help ease it beyond tea & Honey. I clearly stated I was self-pay. What I was NOT told: the base cost just for the visit is $150 at this location (confirmed by MinuteClinic billing in Orlando). That’s before any tests, treatment, or anything else. No one explained this upfront! A strep test was performed without any discussion of added cost, and I later found out the total was around $200 for an extremely simple visit. I Knew i didnt have strep, i just wanted help choosing some medication to ease the soreness. Providering told me “the codes are correct,” but that completely ignores the issue of zero price transparency and no informed consent for additional charges. For that price, I could have gone to an urgent care or hospital-affiliated clinic and received significantly more comprehensive treatment for the same or less. Also, I was asked by the woman if i would like my prescription to be sent to Publix at Moss Park because it was apparently a little cheaper and right next to my home, to which i happily agreed and cofirmed. But to my surprise, when i got home, go to the publix, i find the script was filled At the CVS Minute clinic location i was originaly seen at... 30 minutes away instead! thus having to drive back. It was infuriating and shows even more how little she was listening. The student assisting was polite and professional, but the overall experience felt disorganized and wildly overpriced for what was done.
Lab results follow up experience wasn’t pleasant, personnel feel defensive and forced to take care of me. Automatically said “go to an emergency room if you feel abdominal pain” instead of discussing results and new drug therapy. She doesn’t give me instructions to continue or stopping my previous tx.
First time going to urgent care - wish I had known you could make an appointment. She was professional
Convenient, quick and friendly care.
The Provider-[...] was the practitioner that assisted me on my visit. She was nice and explained everything in detail.
The Provider is an awesome provider, I hope you expand to having a primary care model so I can utilize Minute clinic and [...] for the majority of my healthcare needs.
The Practitioner never touched my body and I complained of flank pain with a kidney infection. Also, the advertised price was $59-$100 for a self-pay, My total was $200 and included a urine culture for $40. She spent zero time asking me my symptoms or even being concerned how I feeling. So, I was bait and switched on the price and not give ANY service but a prescription. I have requested my charges are reversed due to the lack of care and the false advertising.
9/10, only due to the abnormally longer wait. My appointment was at 9:40am, and I didn’t get seen until around 10:15. Aside from that it was a great experience. Both Np and Np student listened tentatively and responded with empathy and sincerity. They met my needs as expected and were very kind and professional.
The NP was wonderful. The problem I have is that she told me I tested positive for covid and gave me the Rx accordingly. The next day I got an email saying I had a new test result and my COVID test was negative. All my paperwork I brought home says I have COVIC - the machine had a + on it, but the next day I get a notice saying I am negative. Which is it????
