Vaccinating patients 18 months to 65 and older
Immunizing your children against common diseases can help them stay healthy and avoid long-term complications that can accompany severe illnesses. Our medical practitioners are immunization-trained and can administer shots for many childhood diseases:
- Flu
- Hepatitis A & B
- Meningitis
- Pneumonia
- Measles
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Tetanus
- Diphtheria
- Polio
Several vaccinations require two or more doses, such as the MMR vaccine that protects against mumps, measles and rubella. We can administer follow-up shots, even if the first one was given elsewhere. Bring documentation showing the date of the last dose, and we can provide the next one.
Immunity to disease can fade over time. If you have not received vaccinations for these childhood diseases in at least 20 years, you may be susceptible. Visit our clinic inside CVS Pharmacy® for Titers and immunity testing. We can determine whether you are still protected, or if you are vulnerable and should update your shots.
Seniors 65 and older may have weakened immune systems. We can provide the high-dose flu shot to seniors and others who are unusually susceptible to the illness.
Fostering good health with preventive care
Walk-in or schedule an appointment when you are ready to take an active role in your long-term health care. Come in for a general medical exam and discuss your health concerns with our practitioners. We can conduct a comprehensive screening which can identify whether you are potentially at risk for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
If you already manage these issues, we can provide tips to make management easier between appointments with your regular doctor. We can also conduct a DOT physical and TB test if they required for work. Ask about our programs to help you lose weight and stop smoking.
Evaluating everyday injuries for active families
From nature trails in the park system, Uptown Climbing and school sports to the golf courses and extreme sports parks at the Perkins Road Community Park, Baton Rouge residents enjoy a variety of activities. When you overdo it on the golf course or trail or your child comes home with scrapes, cuts and bruises, visit our clinic for quality care, seven days a week. At MinuteClinic® we can assess the situation and treat the injuries experienced by active families:
- Joint pain
