General FAQ
1 to 2 day delivery is available at almost all of our CVS Pharmacy locations. Delivery within hours is currently available in most markets (called "on-demand delivery" at checkout). Options available in your area will be displayed during checkout.
No. Controlled substances and medications that require refrigeration cannot be delivered to most locations at this time. Other drug exclusions may apply. Please call your local pharmacy for additional details.
You can only request to have your prescription delivered when it has been filled and is ready for pickup. You can request delivery by calling the store, selecting your delivery options within the CVS Pharmacy app or through a link via an "order ready" text message.
Yes. Delivery is not available for certain insurance and prescription benefit plans, including Medicare Part B. Call your local pharmacy for additional details or to check your prescription's delivery eligibility.
If you select 1 to 2 day and place your order …
By 3 PM Monday through Thursday: delivery within 1 to 2 days
By 3 PM Friday: delivery by Monday
By 2 PM Saturday: delivery by Tuesday
After 2 PM Saturday through Sunday: delivery by Wednesday. No deliveries on Sunday or courier holidays.
If you select on-demand delivery within hours, you'll receive your delivery within four hours. Orders must be submitted four hours prior to store closing to receive delivery the same day as order placement.
For customers in Manhattan, orders must be placed by 11 AM for delivery by 4 PM and by 4 PM for delivery by 8 PM.
Delivery may not be available on certain courier holidays.
If you requested 1 to 2 day delivery:
No. You don't need to be home. The delivery will be left in your mailbox or at a safe place at your delivery address. If no safe location is available, the package will be held at the local post office for up to 15 days, and you will need to either call for a redelivery or pick up the package at the post office. After 15 days, prescription orders will be returned to the pharmacy and you will have to call the pharmacy to have the prescription refilled. Additional delivery fees may apply to redelivery. If your order doesn't arrive as expected, call your local pharmacy.
If you requested on-demand delivery or same-day delivery:
Yes. If someone isn't home, the courier will return your prescription order to the pharmacy. Additional delivery fees may apply to redelivery.
Only customers receiving same-day delivery in Manhattan (NYC) will be required to sign for delivery. In some cases, ID will also be required.
Your home or a location of your choice. The delivery address must be in the same state as the pharmacy. In some states, we require a residential address for prescription delivery.
Some insurance plans cover delivery fees. Many more, including Medicare Part D plans, do not. You'll pay the fee at checkout when you request delivery.

CVS Pharmacy uses national delivery services, including USPS.
If you requested on-demand delivery or same-day delivery:
CVS Pharmacy uses local couriers who have undergone a background screening and special training.
Your pharmacy will only share your full name, delivery address and phone number with the courier, for delivery purposes only. To protect patient privacy, no other personal information or prescription information will be displayed on the tamper-evident delivery packaging or shared with the courier.

Advance payment is required. Your credit, debit, flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) card information can be entered at checkout. If you plan to call the store to place your order, check here first to save your payment information to your account. In most cases, FSA/HSA cards may not be used for delivery fees.
If you are concerned about your delivered package, received the wrong prescription or have another concern about your prescription, you should immediately contact the pharmacy that filled your prescription.
You will receive written information about your prescription with your delivery. If you have additional questions, contact your pharmacy. Look for the phone number on your prescription label.
Adding store items FAQ
No. Select items are available for delivery at participating locations. Delivery of nonprescription items is not available from CVS Pharmacy within Target stores.
Listed online prices apply to delivery products. Prices of products available for delivery may not always match local store prices. You'll see product prices before you place your order. If you place an order by calling the store, the pharmacy will be able to tell you the cost of the products when you place your order.
Online promotions cannot be used nor ExtraBucks Rewards earned with orders called into stores. However, online promotions may be applied to and ExtraBucks Rewards earned with delivery orders placed on the CVS Pharmacy app or through a link via an "order ready" text message.

Unfortunately, no changes can be made once an order has been placed.
If a store item is out of stock, a store colleague may contact you over the phone to offer to substitute a comparable item. We will only make a substitution with your permission. We will charge you either the price of the original item or the substituted item, whichever is lower. We cannot guarantee that ingredients in the substituted item will match those in the original or that the substituted item will be appropriate for your intended use. You should ask to speak to your pharmacist for any questions on the suitability of substituted over-the-counter products. If we cannot offer a comparable substitution for an out of stock item, the out of stock item will be removed from your order and the remaining items in your order will be delivered.
In most cases, due to quick processing and pickup times for your delivery order, it will not be possible to cancel your order before it is shipped. However, if you wish to cancel, you can contact your pharmacy team directly in order to determine if this option is still available.
Yes. You can bring the items and a printed copy of your order confirmation email to your local CVS Pharmacy.
