I literally work for CVS for 31 years as of right now. It is our open enrollment period and I forgot that they charge you a surcharge of $500 if you don't get a free preventative wellness check. So I went to minute clinic to get it out of the way and when in there, I asked when was the last time I was there and was informed it was last June. So I asked if I was too early in the year for my free wellness check because I know the plan year runs from June 1 to May 31, so I didn't want or need a second wellness check within that plan year, otherwise I would probably be charged since you are allowed one. So I asked the nurse if I should just come back after June 1, and she supposedly checked on her computer and said that it was fine that I was there. I even said I only want my "free" check just so I don't get the surcharge. She assured me it was fine, and sure enough, 2 days after my 5 minute free wellness check, my credit card was charged $175. So I called minute clinic to question it, and so far, I haven't heard anything back. They were supposed to see if they can override it, and would call me back, but so far...nothing. The nurse was fine otherwise, she just gave me the wrong information, even with me requestioning it. I would have just waited until June, it wasn't like I really needed a wellness check. It would be nice if someone could take care of this, otherwise I will have to dispute the charge on my credit card. Also as a side note, calling the minute clinic number, there is a glitch that won't take prompts or voice commands and just keeps repeating itself over and over when it asks if you are using private insurance. It say press 1 or say private, neither works no matter when you press or say it. At least as of yesterday 4/15/2026. The appointment was fine aside from being charged when I shouldn't have. She should have known that I wasn't eligible yet for another wellness check yet, even when I questioned her if she was sure.
