What does 3-in-1 refer to on the Michael Graves commode?
A 3-in-1 Commode is a single product that can perform three different functions to assist users with toileting. It can be used as a bedside commode for toileting outside of the bathroom, a toilet riser to elevate the seat level, and a toilet safety frame to provide arm rests for added support.
Why does this commode have an optional backrest and such a wide lid?
When used outside of the bathroom, the backrest enhances comfort and makes the commode look like a regular chair that integrates within a bedroom or living room. The large lid is designed to be like a seat cushion on a chair, so it is an even more useful piece of furniture. All design decisions are intended to draw less attention to the product helping to de-stigmatize the appearance of the room.
Why does this commode have such a large seat surround?
We wanted our commode to provide a comfortable and gracious experience as possible for people. By providing the large surround, it will be a more comfortable experience, be easier to get up and down, and feel more supportive.
Why does this commode have movable armrests?
The armrests are designed to drop down for easier transfers onto the commode from wheelchairs or for people who need assistance. It also enhances access to body areas when cleaning oneself.
Why does this surround drape down so far on the front and sides of the commode?
These details conceal the bucket and splash guard enhancing the appearance of the commode. Many people will see it and think it's just a chair.
Why does the commode have an adjustable height from 16 to 21?
People should set the height to the most comfortable height for sitting and standing, so it's as easy as possible to get up and down. It might be higher than you think. Consult with your physician. When placing the commode over a toilet, make sure the legs of the commode are placed firmly on the ground.
Why does the commode come with a bucket and a splash guard?
If using the Commode over a toilet, insert the splash guard. If used anywhere else, insert the bucket. The splash guard is tapered to work with most round and elongated toilets.
Do you remove the backrest when using the commode over a toilet?
Yes, it is recommended to remove the backrest when using on a toilet to ensure a proper fit.
What is the best way to clean the commode?
Clean with warm water and mild soaps. Thoroughly dry the commode before re-use.
