At CVS Pharmacy®, we believe that health is your number one asset. However, if you're like most people, you put your health on the backburner and only visit the doctor when you've already caught a bug or when something doesn't feel right. By that point, your wellbeing has already been compromised. While palliative care is important, we cannot stress enough the importance of preventative and maintenance care. We offer all three types of care at our MinuteClinic®, located conveniently at the corner of Ford Avenue and Ford Street, across the street from Chase Bank and Advantage One Credit Union. Take control of your health today and walk in whenever it works best for you.
Immunizations prevent disease and keep communities healthy
One way in which you can take control of your health is to get vaccinated for common and dangerous diseases. The professionals at our MinuteClinic® are certified to administer the same vaccines that nurses and physicians in doctor's offices and hospitals are certified to give. Some vaccines that we highly recommend everyone who is healthy and of the appropriate age to get include influenza, MMR, Tdap, meningitis, polio, HPV and shingles.
Most vaccines offer protection for close to a lifetime, but the flu shot is only good for a single flu season. This is because the active strain of the flu virus that infects the population changes each year. Researchers do their best to anticipate which strains will be the most dangerous and devise an immunization with inactive particles of those strains. Though not 100 percent effective, as it's impossible to predict with 100 percent certainty which strain will be the most active each given year, the flu shot does help individuals fight the bug and prevent common complications of the flu, such as pneumonia. For these reasons, we strongly encourage all healthy individuals over the age of 18 months to get the vaccine.
Our team can help manage symptoms of active viruses
It's impossible to prevent sickness entirely, but you can rest assured knowing that if you do come down with a bug, our MinuteClinic® is ready to diagnose and treat your condition when you do. Whether you fall sick on a Monday morning before work, on a Friday evening once the doctor's offices are closed or on a Sunday afternoon, you can count on us to be open and ready to prescribe a treatment plan. Some minor ailments our team is qualified to combat include the following:
- Upper and lower respiratory infections
- Cold, flu and sinus infections
- Ear infections
- Eczema and other skin conditions
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
- Pink eye
- Heartburn and indigestion
If you need a prescription for your ailments, you need not go far, or to go anywhere at all. We can prescribe and fill your prescription then and there before sending you home to rest.
