A few hours after application, the pad will absorb the pus. Directions First, clean the wound with a wound wash or mild soap and water. Then, wait for it to dry. Do not apply any ointment or medication unless directed by a doctor. Then, cover it with the CVS Health Advanced Care Series Hydrocolloid Gel Adhesive Pads. Ensure the entire pad covers healthy skin on all sides of your wound. Gently press it on all sides to secure and seal it. This pad is designed to stay on for up to one week. It will fall off on its own. If you want to remove it manually, loosen the edge by pulling the pad sideways. Doing this will release the seal. You may notice a white residue inside the pad, which is entirely normal. Change the bandage if there are leaks.
