I had picked up a prescription, for B-12 injections, at my regular CVS pharmacy and thought using the Minute Clinic would be my best option to have them done. Well, this was a great decision and I gave myself a pat on the back. The entire staff, from start to finish, were cordial and helpful.

The Nurse did not seem knowledgeable nor confident durning our entire visit. She had to call in another nurse twice, once for not knowing how to input insurance information and again to review my sons symptoms and care recommendations (on what I would consider a very run of the mill illness (sinus issues due to cold/allergies). It was all pretty uncomfortable.

I like that I can get a same-day appointment and dont have a long wait like if I went to a traditional practitioner; yet I still get good quality care. I wish they offered lab/bloodwork too on site.

She may have washed her hands or used sanitizer but I really wasn’t watching. She couldn’t have been more considerate and professional during my visit! I hope I get her again when I get my second shingles shot.

About the Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease. Generally, the flu may resolve on its own. However, if the flu goes untreated, you may be at risk for complications that can be life-threatening. Those that might be at a higher risk of severe flu complications include children under 5, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. If you fall into any of these categories, it is essential that you take strides towards flu prevention by getting your flu shot at MinuteClinic. The flu shot works by exposing you to an inactive flu virus and the flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body after vaccination. These antibodies will help to protect you if you are exposed to the flu virus. Essentially, getting a flu shot prepares your body to fight the flu.

Why Get A Flu Shot?

Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the people around you. Influenza sends a countless number of patients into hospitals each year – don’t be one of them. There are two types of flu shots – a seasonal vaccine for adults and children (preservative-free available, upon request) and a high dose vaccine (for ages 65+). While you can take preventative measures, getting immunized with the influenza vaccine is your best defense against the flu. Each year, new strains of the flu develop. While you may have gotten a flu shot in the past, you may not be protected from the new strands. Although flu vaccines may not be 100% effective, it is still the best defense against the virus. Don’t fall victim to the flu this year – stop by MinuteClinic and get your flu shot today!
