The wait time was long and the nurse seeing us seemed overwhelmed. She was patient but did not provide much detail. We also did not receive a report from our visit.

My doctor was so thorough and compassionate. She listened carefully and took notes and prescribed what was necessary. I’m feeling better less than 24 hours later.

I am writing to request a review and correction of the billing for my recent MinuteClinic visit. I went into Glover Park, DC CVS Mimute Clinic yesterday, where I clearly stated that I had no symptoms and was seeking testing due to exposure, as I live in the same household as individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 and strep. While I understand that my COVID-19 test ultimately returned positive, the reason for the visit was exposure-based screening, not evaluation of symptoms or treatment of an active condition. However, my bill reflects diagnosis codes indicating symptomatic illness and bacterial infection (including J02.9, U07.1, and B96.89), which does not accurately reflect the nature of my visit at the time of service. The diagnosis coding should reflect exposure and/or screening (such as Z20.822 and Z20.818), rather than symptomatic conditions or bacterial infection. Additionally, the visit was billed using CPT code 99203. The visit was brief (approximately 20 minutes) and limited in scope to vitals and testing, without any significant medical decision-making or treatment. Based on the straightforward nature and low complexity of the encounter, a lower-level code such as 99202 would be more appropriate. Because of these discrepancies, I have been charged at a higher rate than what would apply to an exposure-based screening visit. I respectfully request: A review and correction of the diagnosis codes to accurately reflect exposure-based testing Adjustment of the office visit code from 99203 to the appropriate lower-level code (such as 99202) A revised claim submitted to my insurance An updated bill reflecting the corrected charges Please let me know if you need any additional information from me to process this request. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Guler Cetin 703-409-2023
