My overall experience was okay. The Scheduling system is very confusing and it seems like multiple people select the same time online and when showing up for an appointment you can be turned away due to the double book as if it’s your fault. Your front desk receptionist should be trained how to take blood pressures and insurance and enter the data. This could help the flow of the clinic run much faster. You NP has to do it all, just doesn’t seem like a sufficient system. A receptionist doesn’t have to have a license to do these tasks, it can be in house training. The NP was good in the sense she could multi-task, but she gave me no answers as to what could be causing my symptoms. I had to ask the appropriate questions in order for her to give me feedback. I’m in healthcare so I know what to ask, but for individuals who are not it’s important you as the clinician are giving them feedback. This is why we are here. I don’t think I’ll be back for a illness.

Check in was confusing. I was on a waiting list. About 5 minutes after I went home bc I didn’t want to wait 1 1/2 hours I got a text to check in. I turned around and went back. They weren’t ready and the receptionist couldn’t tell me why it said I could check in. Loved the PA. She was extremely thorough about making sure what she subscribed didn’t interfere with my regular medications. She didn’t need to wash her hands bc she was gloves up. She did change gloves.

About the Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease. Generally, the flu may resolve on its own. However, if the flu goes untreated, you may be at risk for complications that can be life-threatening. Those that might be at a higher risk of severe flu complications include children under 5, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. If you fall into any of these categories, it is essential that you take strides towards flu prevention by getting your flu shot at MinuteClinic. The flu shot works by exposing you to an inactive flu virus and the flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body after vaccination. These antibodies will help to protect you if you are exposed to the flu virus. Essentially, getting a flu shot prepares your body to fight the flu.

Why Get A Flu Shot?

Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the people around you. Influenza sends a countless number of patients into hospitals each year – don’t be one of them. There are two types of flu shots – a seasonal vaccine for adults and children (preservative-free available, upon request) and a high dose vaccine (for ages 65+). While you can take preventative measures, getting immunized with the influenza vaccine is your best defense against the flu. Each year, new strains of the flu develop. While you may have gotten a flu shot in the past, you may not be protected from the new strands. Although flu vaccines may not be 100% effective, it is still the best defense against the virus. Don’t fall victim to the flu this year – stop by MinuteClinic and get your flu shot today!
