Your go-to source for immunizations
You and your loved ones should receive the flu shot once a year, right before the start of flu season. The shot typically takes two weeks to become effective, which is important to keep in mind when trying to decide when to receive your vaccine. Though it is not 100 percent effective against the virus and can help your body fight the bug and therefore, alleviate symptoms. It can also protect against common complications of the flu, such as pneumonia.
In addition to the annual flu shot, children and adults alike can and should receive many other immunizations. MMR protects against measles, mumps and rubella, Tdap protects against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis and IPV protects against polio. HPV protects against the human papillomavirus, which causes many types of cancer, and meningococcal vaccines protect against meningitis. Most individuals should get these shots when they're school aged, but anyone can get them at any time.
We happily accept most insurance types
Though you do not need insurance to visit our MinuteClinic®, we do accept most insurance plans. However, you can double check with your provider to see if your plan covers services we offer, or you can call our clinic and inquire with a technician.
